Health and Safety Manager

We're looking for a Health and Safety Manager to lead our health and safety function across Cheshire East Council. This is a high-profile role where you'll work with senior leaders, manage and develop a skilled team, and ensure we meet our statutory and moral responsibilities for the wellbeing of employees, contractors, and the wider community.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated Health and Safety team.
  • Shape culture by embedding proactive health and safety practices across the organisation.
  • Advise senior leaders and influence decision-making at the highest level.
  • Audit and improve compliance through robust governance frameworks.
  • Deliver training and champion best practice.
  • Act as the Council's competent person for health and safety matters .

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered IOSH Membership (essential).
  • Significant senior management experience in health and safety within a large and diverse organisation.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and implement improvement plans.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
