Salary: MPS - UPS (£32,916 - £51,048, Plus TLR 1 £12,521)
We are looking for a committed and values-led Head of Year to help shape the culture, progress, and wellbeing of a year group at Neale Wade Academy. This role combines strong classroom practice with purposeful pastoral leadership, ensuring every learner feels supported and challenged to achieve their best. You will guide behaviour, attendance and personal development, build positive relationships with families and colleagues, and use data thoughtfully to inform interventions that make a real difference. Working closely with form tutors and teaching staff, you will foster a calm, aspirational environment where students can thrive academically and personally, contributing to the warm, inclusive community that defines Neale Wade Academy.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pastoral culture, wellbeing, behaviour and day-to-day experience of a specific year group, maintaining high expectations.
- Use data on progress, attendance and behaviour to identify priorities and coordinate targeted interventions.
- Build positive relationships with learners, families, form tutors and external agencies to safeguard and support students.
- Lead and quality-assure the work of form tutors, ensuring consistent and effective pastoral provision.
- Teach to a high standard, modelling strong behaviour management and contributing to a positive learning environment.
