Job description
Head of Supply Chain and Inbound Logistics, is a senior position, reporting to the VP of Production, responsible for managing and overseeing the Procurement, External Industrialisation, Supplier Flow Quality, Goods Receiving Inspection, Inbound Logistics, Spares Logistics and Offload teams and the relevant processes and day-to-day activities.
• Manage the Procurement, External Industrialisation, Supplier Flow Quality, Inbound Logistics, Spares Inspection & Logistics and Offload functions to ensure cost effective procurement of all incoming goods and services at a suitable quality and agreed price
- Ensure inbound product and supplier quality is kept throughout the procurement process for External Industrialisations, Supplier Flow Quality and operational offload operations
• Develop enhanced procurement and supplier quality management systems and controls to ensure quality, cost, & delivery targets are achieved and maintained and drive any required changes
- Provide leadership, motivation and direction to staff whilst managing the implementation of the Supply Chain harmonised processes on the site in order to achieve expected results
- Develop relationships with our Suppliers/Partners, as well as negotiating agreements and implementing improvement initiatives for these suppliers including risk assessments/mitigation and escalation activities
- Ensure and coordinate the cross site and cross functions activities and communicate with SPM teams, Purchasing, Planning, PPM, CS, and Engineering
- Manage external industrialisation in regards of the quality/cost/delay objectives
Based on the project risk analysis level, drive the progress of the industrialisation project with the supplier
• Identify & Manage the project risks
• Manage the action plan according to SAFRAN requirements, including over stock management to protect the production, DVI approval, concurrent engineering
- Ensure the supplier has the organisation and the management to implement all the industrial means and their approval
- Ensure performance of quality side of the production flow, in close collaboration with the procurement team, quality flow and production teams
• Ensure the quality and conformity of the products supplied
- Support the availability of parts on time
- Process and eradicate supplier concessions and manage pre-releases
- Guarantee compliance with the reference system associated with the DVI process for minor design changes, supplier industrial changes and interruptions of more than 24 months
- Define incoming inspection policies, with consultation of the quality teams (for supplier risk aspects)
- Work in close collaboration with the teams in charge of the panel and supplier performance, and the industrialization teams
Travel specifictity
There is regular travel required with this role, to supplier sites, both UK based and international.
Candidate skills & requirements
• A minimum of a degree level in a relevant discipline and/or be CIPS qualified, or have the equivalent training and experience
• Excellent commercial acumen coupled with a broad understanding of business
• International contract awareness and Supplier relationship building experience
• In-depth knowledge of total quality management and "lean production techniques"
• Hands on management style with a proven ability to act as a team player and leader
• Strong analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills
• Experienced in development and administration of departmental budgets
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, and motivate other to make changes within a manufacturing environment with employees at all levels
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
