The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP for PUIG UK, the Head of SD/VM plays a pivotal role in shaping the in-store experience for Puig brands in the UK Market This position is accountable for the strategic planning and flawless execution of all retail design and visual merchandising activities, adhering to established timelines, maintaining a commitment to excellence, and upholding brand guidelines.
As a leader, the Head of SD/VM will oversee and inspire the Store Design and VM team, driving end-to-end design processes, project planning, and execution of all retail initiatives. This role will ensure that every project not only meets but exceeds expectations, fostering a compelling brand presence and enhancing customer engagement across all touchpoints.
What you'll get to do
• Strategically champion brand identity by leading the strategic development and execution of the brand image across all points of sale, including retail stores, permanent fixtures, semi-permanent displays, pop-ups, and temporary spaces for all Puig brands, ensuring a cohesive and impactful market presence.
• Drive initiatives that influence the market point of view, optimising the consumer journey and enhancing the in-store experience through innovative Store Design (SD) and Visual Merchandising (VM) strategies. Be the voice of the market to Global stakeholders to ensure the blend of best-in-class brand expression and optimised client journey and in store experience.
• Direct and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for new store openings and refurbishment initiatives. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational objectives through effective coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Travel across the country to engage with teams, monitor progress on critical and high-impact projects, and ensure alignment with brand objectives.
• Establish, oversee, and deliver the annual budget, including CAPEX, while proactively identifying and communicating risks and opportunities. Maintain financial discipline and transparency to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Foster robust partnerships with global brand teams to ensure alignment on project objectives. Influence design outcomes by articulating market and retailer needs, ensuring that all initiatives resonate with target audiences.
• Provides technical support and knowledge for boutiques, department stores, and high-street locations, while leveraging the existing expertise within the team to optimise operations and enhance performance.
• Craft strategic briefs that facilitate effective communication between global brand teams and local suppliers, ensuring clarity and alignment on project expectations.
• Drive the entire Store Design and Visual Merchandising (SD/VM) team, nurturing a collaborative environment that empowers team members while taking courageous decisions when needed.
• Lead supplier partnerships to guarantee the highest quality production and installations. Enforce project deadlines and brand standards through rigorous oversight and collaboration.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in material specifications and technical recommendations. Review and approve technical plans and samples prior to production and installation, ensuring uncompromised quality standards.
• Ensure retailer engagement by managing relationships with retailers to secure approvals on renders and technical drawings, safeguarding brand integrity throughout the implementation process.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Retail teams to identify and capitalise on new opportunities in-store, driving enhanced visibility and impact for Puig brands.

• Inspiring and collaborative team leader, proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
• Experience in retail design, visual merchandising, or a related field.
• Proven track record in managing end-to-end retail design projects, including store openings and refurbishments.
• Experience working within the luxury retail sector is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with different retail formats, including boutiques, department stores, and high-street retailers.
• Ability to leverage consumer insights to enhance the overall shopping experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
