The Role

Watling Academy is seeking an inspiring and ambitiousindividual to join us as Head of Social Sciences. Following the successfullaunch of our Sixth Form in September 2025, this is an exciting opportunity tolead, shape and grow the A-Level Social Sciences curriculum, while drivingexcellence across our already well-established and highly popular KS4 SocialSciences provision.

As Head of Social Sciences, you will play a pivotalrole in leading the development of our new school, encouraging students to havea critical understanding of the world around them. The post holder will take aleading role in the development of courses in Sociology, Health and Social Careand Psychology at A Level. Our students have shown a passion to pursue SocialScience curriculum options, and this is a crucial role for the development ofour school. You will also have the opportunity to grow the curriculum offerover time.

We are open to applications from experienced Heads ofDepartment and aspiring teachers looking to take the next step in theircareers. Experience of teaching Psychology is preferred. AboutWatling Academy

WatlingAcademy is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school situated on the westernedge of Milton Keynes, encompassing the Whitehouse and Fairfields developments.Opening in September 2020, our school is a new and vibrant learning communityfor students aged 11-18.
