Can you help shape the future heart of Lancashire?

Lancashire is a vibrant and striking place to live and work and it's also one of the fastest growing locations in the UK. As the fourth largest local authority in the country and the largest in the North, we serve 1.2 million residents. Our City Deal programme adds £1bn a year to the economy and £2.3bn of private investment with a potential £1bn worth of investment around the HS2 hub at Preston Train Station, so there's lots to do. We're the leader in terms of advanced manufacturing in the country and the 9th largest manufacturing area globally. It's a key region linking both industry and innovation to a strong local heritage and an area of outstanding natural beauty. We're now looking for an outstanding person to head-up the large multi-disciplinary Public and Integrated Transport Service, leading, influencing, shaping and challenging to drive forward our public transport activities and plans, home to school transport, concessionary travel, specialist transport and vehicle and plant fleet management and maintenance services.

We are looking for a passionate and energetic person to lead, inspire and motivate the teams to drive the service forward, achieving high quality delivery. We require significant professional and/or management experience of a strategic service and a demonstrative record of delivering high quality services against challenging objectives and resources. It's an exciting time for Lancashire and this role requires an exceptional candidate who can manage a broad and varied multi-disciplinary service.
