About this Role

We are looking for an inspirational and motivated Head of SEND (SpecialEducational Needs and Disabilities) and SENCO (Special Educational NeedsCoordinator) to come on board to influence inclusion at the College. You willjoin us with many priorities and ideas to enable our most vulnerable students toreceive the same academic excellence and high expectations as every other student.

This role will work with the curriculum team to plan and deliverhigh-quality teaching and learning for students aged 16-19 with SEND and/ orSENCO, supporting them to achieve their academic, vocational, and personaloutcomes and to prepare them for adulthood. The postholder will set highexpectations which inspire, motivate and challenge SEND students byestablishing a safe and stimulating environment, rooted in mutual respect.

If successful, you would play a vital role in the College, which is gradedas 'outstanding' in all categories by Ofsted. Our College excels in providing abroad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which hasresulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education inthe sector. During the recent exams, students at Joseph ChamberlainCollege achieved outstanding exam results.

Our College is situated within easy reach of Birmingham City Centre, in astate-of-the-art building with superbly equipped classrooms and outstandingfacilities.

Hours of work: Hours of work will be full-time, over 5 days in line with the teachingcontract.

Salary: The salary for this post is paid on the Sixth Form College Teacher'smain scale up to £56,909 per annum, which includes a management allowance of£5195. This is dependent on the teaching experience of the successfulcandidate.
