Salary: From £74,100

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintain and develop the Sector’s project risk and opportunity management strategy and policies, in line with Group.

• Improve project risk and opportunity management capability and practices across the Air Sector (including its line of business and operations), to deliver value through:

– Enhancing risk & opportunity knowledge in the Project Management & Control community.

– Enabling & supporting effective risk & opportunity management in other Air Functions.

– The availability and implementation of effective and efficient risk and opportunity management processes, which are digitally enabled.

– Effective data standards.

• Regular assurance of the effective application of risk & opportunity practices and capability, and the impact this has on value delivery across the Sector project portfolio.

• Providing advice & guidance in project teams in the sector as needed.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Extensive experience of working in a complex project portfolio environment, including project delivery and functional roles

• Ability to demonstrate enhanced Risk & Opportunities Management knowledge, experience & qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate extensive risk & opportunities management experience on different projects, and the explain the value it has delivered

• APM Chartered or equivalent

Desirable

• Business change management, through examples of implementing new project management practices

The Sectors Project Management Functional team:

From building and supporting advanced jets for global markets, to the development of Future Combat Air Systems, our mission is to ensure our partner air forces have access to the combat air capability they need, both now and in the future. This role, situated in the Sector’s Project Management team, will lead the Sectors risk and opportunities practices across its broad project portfolio. You will have the opportunity to develop the Sectors risk and opportunity strategy and capability to improve project execution and enhance value delivery. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with the potential to lead into more senior positions within a global business.
