Role Purpose

This role is all about leading our commercial vehicle refrigeration conversion business to success, through inspirational management and industry knowledge. Ensuring your teams are clear on direction and expectations and working to the highest quality standards. Lead factory is based in Manchester, Trafford Park, and a secondary production site in Atworth, Wiltshire.

In this role, you will oversee all manufacturing and assembly stages, driving efficiencies and LEAN principles to maintain profit margins, whilst maintaining the highest standards for product quality and health & safety.

Help us triple the production capacity within 18 months.

Technical Duties

  • Provide technical leadership and drive process improvements using LEAN methodologies.
  • Standardise systems and processes, and look to de-skill the process where possible.
  • Lead the adoption and integration of modern technologies and design solutions to improve efficiencies.
  • Ensure overall compliance with technical design.
  • Maintain high levels of product quality as expected from our brand position in the UK market.

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Full P&L responsibility for both factories.
  • Drive profitability by maximising each sites production capacity, efficiently.
  • Prioritise and manage build schedules as needed to meet customer expectations.
  • Liaise with accounts re invoicing, purchasing, general cashflow.
  • Manage overtime and corrective works as efficiently as possible.

Leadership

  • Liaise with management and supervisors on site to ensure effective day to day running of the factories
  • Manage employee relations and lead the team in an inspirational way.
  • Be a key communicator - keeping the team in the know and creating a team environment.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Oversee general factory maintenance.
  • Ensure all health and safety measures are compliant and upheld.
  • Mange robust recruitment processes to ensure low rates of staff turnover.

  • You have exceptional communication skills and understand that these need to be tailor for different interactions.
  • You would describe yourself as a resilient person; someone who has strong coping skills and can draw on these when life presents challenges.

  • Motivation - you are personally motivated, and this inspires those around you to also achieve.
  • You put health and safety and employee wellbeing first.
  • You have body builder experience at a senior management level and have successfully managed a similar production process.
  • You have a sound understanding of the manufacturing & assembly process for commercial vehicles.
