What we are looking for:

We're looking for a talented and hands-on Head of Product Design to join our team at Flawless. As our design lead, you'll be responsible for owning the strategy and execution of our product design function, from initial concept to final UI/UX. You'll also play a key role in building out our design team as we scale in 2025.

You'll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, isn't afraid to wear multiple hats, and loves the challenge of bringing innovative products and experiences to life. Starting as an individual contributor, you'll establish our design strategy, enhance existing product designs, and work closely with cross-functional teams. Over time, you'll recruit, mentor, and lead a growing team of designers to create impactful and user-centered design solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Design Strategy & Vision: Develop and communicate a design vision that aligns with our business goals, creating a clear path forward for our product designs.
• End-to-End Product Design: Lead the design process from start to finish, maintain a robust design system, and ensure that user-centered design principles are at the core of everything we do.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to translate business objectives and technical capabilities into design solutions that enhance the user experience.
• Research & Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve on industry trends in AI and design, conducting user research and usability testing to ensure we're delivering the best possible experience.
• Team Leadership: As we grow, build, lead, and inspire a high-performing design team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.

What You'll Bring:

• 7+ years of design experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a track record of successful design projects and strategic vision.
• Expertise in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Excellent communication skills-you can clearly articulate your ideas to stakeholders across the company.
• Experience in mentoring others as well as ideally building and leading design teams.
• A passion for pushing the boundaries of design in tech, especially as it intersects with AI.

Bonus Points:

• Master's Degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
• Experience designing creative tools such as design, video editing, or creative software and understanding of workflows.
• Experience in AI-driven products, or in industries like entertainment, film, VFX, or gaming.
• Previous experience working in a rapidly scaling startup.

Interview Process:

At Flawless, our team and interview process want to help you show your best self. We'll dive into past projects and simulate working together.

Our interview process is three rounds with some casual Zoom (or in-person) coffee in between to get to know each other:

- 30-45 minute call with our recruiting team (We want to discuss your interests and motivations as well as the practical details and make sure that Flawless would be a good fit for you)

- 45-60 minute introduction call to discuss Flawless and your past work (Portfolio review and discussion)

- 2.5-3 hours onsite Interview where you will meet variety of your potential future colleagues (We will have specific sessions that focus on how you collaborate with others, your leadership skills and a presentation diving deep into a past piece of work/project)

Your Recruiter and hiring manager will be your main point of contact and prepare you for interviews. You'll meet 4 to 6 people from across the business. (We make sure that you have time in each interview to ask them questions). If we don't give an offer, we'll provide feedback!
