Role: Head of Procurement
Location: This role will be based at our Bolton Head Office.
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday
Salary: £65,000 - £80,000

Joining us as Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for developing and leading the procurement function at SpaMedica. This standalone role will develop and implement procurement strategies that ensure value for money, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organisation. Working closely with the Commercial Finance Director and other key stakeholders, the postholder will build procurement processes from the ground up, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in sourcing and contract management, building on the recent introduction of the PIVOT contract management and procurement system.
Key Outputs:
- Develops and implements a companywide procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Further develops the use of the PIVOT contract management and procurement system
- Establishes companywide procurement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure transparency, compliance, and efficiency.
- Identifies and delivers cost savings and value improvements through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Reports procurement strategy and cost savings to UK and Group Boards with clarity and consistency
- Manages supplier relationships and performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and adherence to contractual terms.
- Leads procurement activity for high-value and strategic contracts, including tendering, evaluation, and award processes.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and all departments to understand procurement needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Monitors market trends and risks, providing insights and recommendations to inform procurement decisions.
- Ensures compliance with relevant legislation, including public procurement regulations and internal governance.
Qualifications & Experience: (Depth & breadth of specialised knowledge)
- CIPS Level 5 or above (or working towards).
- Proven experience in procurement within healthcare or regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, supplier management, and tendering processes.
- Experience in developing procurement functions or leading transformation projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Use of PIVOT contract management and procurement system

- Balancing cost-efficiency with quality and compliance requirements.
- Managing multiple stakeholder expectations across clinical and non-clinical areas.
