The Head of Pricing & Trading will lead the strategic oversight of insurance pricing and performance. This senior leadership role drives business performance through a comprehensive understanding of key pricing trading levers, market trends, and competitor activity. As the central figure in optimising our approach to pricing, you'll create unique value for our partners and customers. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the trading strategy. You will be a key influencer across all levels of the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to align product and revenue ambitions.

Some of the great things you'll be doing:
• Pricing Strategy Development: Define and implement innovative pricing strategies to deliver market-leading rates, enhancing customer acquisition and retention. Leading the ideation and creation of a Pricing backlog that drives customer switching and savings.
• Data Asset Utilisation: Leverage new and existing LLM and AI data assets to optimise pricing models.
• Strategic Leadership Trading Performance: Provide leadership and vision in monitoring, tracking, and driving performance insights for insurance products. Translate complex data into clear, strategic recommendations that influence decision-making at the highest levels.
• Prioritize and Rationalise Pricing Opportunities: Drive the rationalisation of the product backlog, ensuring only the most impactful initiatives are pursued. Lead cross-functional teams in validating opportunities that deliver the greatest value for customers and revenue growth, maintaining a focus on high-return items.
• Competitor and Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of market trends and competitor pricing activity, using insights to proactively adjust strategy and maintain a competitive edge. Evaluate when and how market learnings should influence internal decision-making, ensuring Compare the Market remains a leader in the insurance sector.
• Lead Holistic Trading Oversight: Develop and maintain an overarching strategy that considers all trading levers, including PPC, SEO, affiliate partnerships, product backlog, and pricing. Ensure these elements are effectively leveraged to meet and exceed ambitious trading and revenue goals.
• Stakeholder Influence and Cross-Functional Leadership: As a senior leader, partner with Commercial Finance, Data, Commercial, Product, and Customer Teams to drive alignment and collaboration. Present category performance, key drivers, risks, and opportunities to C-suite and other senior stakeholders, ensuring insights are acted upon and integrated into broader strategic initiatives.
What we'd like to see from you:
• Significant experience in a senior trading, pricing, commercial leadership role within the insurance sector.
• Proven track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels, including exec, with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams and lead through influence.
• Deep understanding of trading levers (PPC, SEO, affiliate marketing, pricing) and experience managing complex trading strategies.
• Expertise in backlog management and prioritisation to drive optimal product delivery.
• Ability to build competitor insights and market trends into actionable strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex insights in a clear, compelling manner.
