Head of Operations (South)

Salary: Up to £50,000, plus quarterly bonus and company car

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, with flexibility required

Location: Southern UK

What can you expect?

As the Head of Southern Operations, you are responsible for managing a team of Air & Water Regional Operations Managers to provide top class service to our customers in your region.

  • Be responsible for all aspects of your regional team
  • Embed a structure to ensure all members of the team are trained and equipped appropriately to deliver the work
  • Provide management support to help maximise efficiency and revenue through effective control of costs, efficient scheduling and initiatives to improve performance
  • Take ownership and responsibility for delivering services for our key contracts and be responsible for relationship management with Customers.
  • Liaise and work closely with the other regional ROMs, RSMs and Planning to achieve monthly compliance of all contractual work.
  • Produce KPIs to ensure the team carry out all tasks included but not limited to (effective audits, 1-2-1s, compliance, profit, appraisals, security clearances and any employee relationship meetings)
  • Control departmental spend within agreed budgets and provide monthly detail report to your Manager to include control of monthly overtime/travel time spend.
  • In the event of an incident/accident, involve SHEQ and take responsibility and represent Marlowe Environmental Services during any investigation, findings and corrective actions.
  • Deliver or exceed contract compliance targets for the region and provide full report to your manager.
  • Responsible for the delivery of critical tasks due in the month.
  • Deliver or exceed right first time/call back targets per region.
  • Maintain utilised time per Contract Area.
  • Control staff and operational direct headcount and basic wage costs within agreed levels.
  • Implement processes and standards and report on operational performance and suggest and implement operational improvements and efficiencies

Requirements

  • Knowledge of running a departmental P&L
  • Client service skills
  • Commercials awareness and strategic planning experience
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Be able to communicate and implement decisions effectively
  • Time management skills
  • Water treatment and air hygiene knowledge is desirable
  • Valid driving License
  • Compliant DBS and Security checks that can be customer specific
  • Ability to work on your own and collaboratively as a team
