Role Description Do you want to play a key role on the leadership team of a leading commercial digital insurer responsible for all operational aspects of Digital Trading, ensuring best-in-class service for our brokers and customers and driving employee engagement? We are seeking a Head of Operations for our Digital Trading business with responsibility for operational activity onshore and offshore and reporting directly to the Director, Digital Trading & ALP. It's an exciting time to join Digital Trading at Allianz, during a period of significant transformation and investment to make sure we are the number one digital insurer in the UK commercial marketplace.

Main responsibilities include:

• Owner of the operational strategy for Digital Trading and leader of a 160+ strong team responsible for delivering best-in-class service to our customers and brokers
• Providing oversight to the Strategic Operations team which is responsible for the insight and technologies that support market-leading service for our brokers
• Optimising the broker journey, by improving Straight Through Processing, automating low-complexity tasks and directing resource towards complex value-add activities
• Identifying and deploying emerging technologies and tools that support in optimising operational performance and delivering operational excellence
• Overall responsibility for the more than 100 strong expert Underwriting Teams that sit across Maidstone and Lancaster, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery
• Responsible for more than 50 colleagues based in our offshore operation in Trivandrum, India, supporting automation of processes and service delivery
• Developing and executing operational strategies that support the growth and profitability of the digital trading insurance business
• Analysing operational data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for operational efficiencies, utilising insights to drive informed decision-making
• Working with the Finance teams to manage financial forecasting and budgets
• Accountable for operational resilience across Digital's Important Business Services
• Collaborating with other business functions, such as Underwriting, Claims, Distribution and IT, to optimise cross-functional processes and enhance customer satisfaction
• Contributing towards and executing upon agreed change and transformation activities across the Digital Trading estate
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and driving a culture of risk management and operational control.

About You

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals
• Robust understanding of digitally traded insurance products, operations and customer needs
• Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly and understand the long-term impact of decisions
• Experience of successfully delivering excellence in service, as well as delivering operational change and transformation programmes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Track record of delivering value through ongoing process improvement
• Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and tools that support operational excellence and ability to deploy them
• Experienced in budget management
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
