Person specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Masters or higher degree or equivalent experience
- RN Learning Disabilities (LD), RGN or RMN with significant experience in LDA
Desirable criteria
- Appropriate management / Leadership courses.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant and current clinical experience at a senior level within Learning Disability Services
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NHS policy and strategy with a proven ability to translate into local action.
- Current knowledge of relevant professional and policy initiatives
- Experience of successfully managing an operational service including budget management/financial planning and strategic development
- Understanding of integrated health and social care models
- Experience of successfully managing and resolving complex complaints and incidents.
- Experiencing in developing and presenting business cases
- Experience of setting workforce establishments, reviewing skill mix and introduction of new roles
- Experience of working with/consultation with patient groups, other agencies and voluntary groups re service provision and development.

- Innovative professional leader, able to inspire and motivate teams and individuals to enhance patient experience
- Well organised, strategic thinker Evidence of strong leadership skills.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of participating in/leading nursing research.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
