Person specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Masters or higher degree or equivalent experience
• RN Learning Disabilities (LD), RGN or RMN with significant experience in LDA

Desirable criteria

• Appropriate management / Leadership courses.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

• Significant and current clinical experience at a senior level within Learning Disability Services
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NHS policy and strategy with a proven ability to translate into local action.
• Current knowledge of relevant professional and policy initiatives
• Experience of successfully managing an operational service including budget management/financial planning and strategic development
• Understanding of integrated health and social care models
• Experience of successfully managing and resolving complex complaints and incidents.
• Experiencing in developing and presenting business cases
• Experience of setting workforce establishments, reviewing skill mix and introduction of new roles
• Experience of working with/consultation with patient groups, other agencies and voluntary groups re service provision and development.

Essential criteria

• Innovative professional leader, able to inspire and motivate teams and individuals to enhance patient experience
• Well organised, strategic thinker Evidence of strong leadership skills.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of participating in/leading nursing research.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
