Job Title: Head of National Bids – FCAS

Salary: £66,500 + depending on experience, and executive benefits
What you’ll be doing:
· You will manage the delivery of GCAP BAE Systems scope proposals and bid outputs
· You will collaboratively set the Design & Development requirement with Governments
· Jointly prepare and deliver the GCAP international proposal
· You will develop and deliver the industrial international bid plan including harmonised governance and clearances
· Balance the negotiation and partnership dynamics with international partners
· Orchestrate and integrate the UK industry partners responses aligned with respective international Supply Chain
· You will deliver a proposal that is aligned to ‘new’ international Government contract regulations. Proposal that enables delivery of industry and customer objectives, optimised risk/reward, commercial boundaries and structures for shared risk, information transparency etc.
· You will manage a direct team of around 6, a core IPT of circa 30 and indirect contributions from across the Supply Chain
· You will lead weekly progress meeting and monthly Bid Reviews, including submissions to internal and external reviews
· And contribute to the definition of future transition in phases from current contracts
Your skills and experiences:
· Experienced in leading complex bids in international settings
· Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices) and good knowledge of other functions such as Commercial & Finance
· Large complex programme experience within defence would be beneficial, although other industries will be considered
· Educated to degree level and/or recognised project management qualifications would be beneficial

The FCAS Bid team:
You will be joining a fast growing newly formed bid team supporting the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme.
The BAE Systems Tempest is a proposed sixth-generation fighter aircraft that is under development in the United Kingdom for the Royal Air Force (RAF). The aircraft is intended to enter service from 2035, gradually replacing the Eurofighter Typhoon. It is being developed as part of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme by a consortium known as Team Tempest, which includes the Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, the UK subsidiary of Leonardo, and MBDA UK. £2 billion is planned to be spent by the British government on the initial phase of the project up to 2025
