Hours: Monday - Friday, daytime only
Salary: £50-60k per year
Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays

Location: Based at our Head office in Farnborough

We're looking for a visionary music educator who is deeply passionate about transforming children's lives through the power of music education. As our Head of Music Education & Innovation, you will inspire and lead our team of talented music teachers, drive curriculum innovation, and ensure excellence in teaching and professional development.

We teach primary school students to play drums, keyboard, electric guitar, and sing in a band, fostering confidence, well-being, and academic success.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Design and oversee the development of a music education curriculum that helps progress pupils in a band environment for various age groups and skill levels.

Leadership & Training: Guide and lead a team of music teachers (Band Coaches), fostering a collaborative teaching environment. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance teaching skills, ensure instructional consistency, and implement effective behaviour management strategies.

Professional Development: Provide continuous professional development for teachers, equipping them with innovative teaching skills. Organise workshops, online courses, and coaching sessions to foster a collaborative learning community.

Program Innovation: Integrate emerging trends and technology into the curriculum, developing new programs and courses. Partner with our in-house software developers to incorporate the latest technology, personalise learning paths for each student and enhance engagement with both children and parents through innovative digital tools.

Quality Assurance: Maintain high teaching standards, regularly assessing and improving the quality of instruction.

Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure cohesive student recruitment and retention strategies.

Data Analysis: Use data-driven insights to enhance curriculum design and instructional strategies.

Budget Management: Manage the budget for music education and curriculum development.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in music education with a proven track record of curriculum development
  • Proven ability to deliver effective training workshops for educators, ensuring practical implementation of innovative teaching strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of various music genres, teaching methods, and pedagogical approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative thinker with a passion for fostering musical creativity and skill development.
  • Familiarity with technology tools and applications used in music education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in music education.
