The role

This role is responsible for leading the development and communication of media strategy, to guide all paid and owned media activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear and inspiring long term media strategy - including audiences, channel mix and phasing approaches - which maximises the impact of all paid and owned channels on our desired outcomes.
  • Communicate the media strategy effectively to ensure stakeholder alignment and buy-in - within and outside the media team.
  • Work with the Insights team to develop a deep understanding of ITV's existing viewers and customers, and the audience growth opportunities, with a particular focus on their media behaviours.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, challenges and opportunities, and how they impact our media activity.
  • Influence the heads of media to develop channel approaches that complement the overall media strategy.
  • Work with the Insights, Marketing and Media teams to understand the impact of our activity and help to embed learnings into future plans.
  • Play an active role on the Media Leadership Team, helping develop the skills, culture and ways of working of a best-in-class operation.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Expert in-depth knowledge across paid and owned media channels, with proven hands-on experience in both.
  • Highly experienced in developing strategy for paid and owned media.
  • Highly experienced in understanding insight and data to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Senior media professional with a proven success record working with multiple stakeholders in complex businesses.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold others accountable and enforce change where needed.
