The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Marketing to join the Energy Confex team at Clarion. You will lead the strategic marketing direction of our energy portfolio and build a marketing team with the skills, creativity, and drive to achieve ambitious portfolio goals.
As Head of Marketing, you will oversee all aspects of marketing strategy, campaign execution, and team development. Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you will lead a growing team of Marketing Executives, ensuring the portfolio's global events surpass milestones, exceed KPIs, and deliver measurable commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a year-round, data-driven marketing strategy to achieve portfolio growth, improve lead quality, and surpass KPIs for attendance and commercial success.
- Define and lead the data strategy, focusing on segmentation, data acquisition, and optimising database quality to enhance engagement and conversion rates.
- Monitor industry trends and customer insights to inform strategy and ensure our events remain at the forefront of the energy sector.
Team Building & Collaboration
- Lead and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to team members, ensuring continuous improvement and growth.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Production, and external partners to align objectives and leverage synergies across teams.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Design and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, social media, website, and paid media, to generate highly qualified leads and meet marketing KPIs.
- Oversee the creation of compelling, customer-centric content, ensuring consistency and alignment with the portfolio's value proposition.
- Continuously analyse campaign performance, using data and insights to optimise tactics and improve ROI.
Digital Excellence
- Ensure all event websites are optimised for user experience, with clear CTAs and regular updates to drive engagement and conversion.
- Leverage CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot) to streamline marketing processes, track performance, and deliver personalised customer experiences.
- Maintain and grow the portfolio's social media presence, driving engagement and positioning Clarion as a thought leader in the energy space.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Produce comprehensive post-campaign performance reports, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations for future improvements.
- Use advanced analytics to track the effectiveness of digital campaigns, email marketing, and promotional activities, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and nurture relationships with key media, association, and industry partners to secure valuable promotional opportunities.
- Partner with the Head of Sales to align marketing efforts with commercial objectives and enhance lead conversion strategies.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:
- Proven experience leading and developing marketing teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
- Demonstrated expertise in data-driven marketing, including segmentation, analysis, and performance optimisation.
- Strong understanding of B2B event marketing, with the ability to create customer-centric strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Advanced proficiency in CRM and CMS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, WordPress) and digital marketing tools.
- Expertise in attribution modelling, Google Analytics, and other data analysis tools to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, copywriting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial mindset, capable of optimising marketing budgets and maximising ROI.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
