Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance to oversee our business's legal and compliance aspects. This individual will ensure that our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies, enforce regulations in all aspects and levels of

business, and provides guidance on compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance

• • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly in relation to E-money and Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs).
  • Stay updated on FCA regulations and ensure Kixy's policies and procedures are aligned with these regulations.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of the EMI license application, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Oversee compliance with both UK and EU E-money regulations and standards.

• Legal Oversight

• • Provide expert legal advice on various issues, including corporate governance, contract negotiation, intellectual property, and data protection.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and legal documents.

• Risk Management

• • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans to resolve problematic issues.
  • Provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

• Internal Policies and Training

• • Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters to ensure a culture of compliance within the company.

• Liaison with Authorities

• • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, including the FCA.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsels and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Head of Legal and Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer, or similar senior role in a fintech or financial services company.
• Extensive experience with EMI applications and a thorough understanding of FCA regulations in the UK.
• Full expertise in E-money roles and regulations within the UK and EU.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, risk management, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• A law degree from an accredited university, as well as additional qualifications in compliance or risk management, are a plus.
