Head of IT - Public Sector

DHL, an award-winning, leading supply chain business is seeking a Head of IT - Public Sector. You will be accountable for developing the strategic vision for the Public Sector business unit and will business partner as the primary contact for all IT service provision including IT budget and cost control, account management and business development. You will be involved in the management of IT services to multiple partners across a multi-customer, multi-site environment.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will be responsible for:

• Responsible for the delivery of IT services within the Business Unit with high IT complexity and customer interaction.
• Lead the IT team to deliver the IT strategy and to develop customer and operational value through continuous improvement, maintaining existing solutions and building innovative new solutions and commercial approaches.
• Ensure that DHL IT Strategy and Governance is adhered to.
• Provide demonstrable knowledge of supply chain technologies to meet the business needs of today and the future and accountable for the IT pipeline and programme scheduling.
• Drive and guide the behaviours of the team to build and maintain key relationships with operational business owners and our customers.
• IT Cost management - be aware of IT cost base and delivery drivers. Maintain regular monitoring and reviews to ensure transparency, effective control and take action as appropriate.
• Measure and review the quality of IT services delivered from key partners and internal and external service providers.
• Internal stakeholder relationships - lead and co-ordinate relationships and communication with business partners.
• External customer relationships and direct communication with external customers as appropriate to support business development and existing operation.
• IT Business Development activity for all new opportunities and renewals and accountable for IT solution pricing.
• Commercialisation of IT function to BU and external stakeholders.
• IT Budget and lead the IT budget creation, management, and work with the Financial Controllers to leverage opportunities.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• IT Supplier Management - Maintain vendor and supplier relationships and IT systems across the sites.
• IT Product Management.
• Customer Relationships, manage and co-ordinate relationships and communication with business stakeholders.
• Adherence to Information Security policy and standards.
• IT Implementation - direct and own solution design and delivery of IT solutions, services, and processes.
• IT Service Management - delivery and maintenance of ITSM processes in operations and to lead service performance to defined standards and SLAs.
• IT Change Management - run all aspects of change and release management, using required predefined tools and processes, for IT systems.
• IT Business Development, support business development activity for all new opportunities or accounts and renewals within area of responsibility.
• IT Value Creation - create a culture to support IT commercialisation.
• Management of the IT Budget and own the IT budget creation, management and communicates and works with the financial controllers to identify opportunities.
• IT Cost management - to be aware of and manage IT cost base and drivers within area of responsibility, and to maintain regular monitoring and reviews to ensure transparency, effective control and to act as appropriate.
