About the role
The Head of Delivery is accountable for leading the following IT disciplines: IT Portfolio and Project Management; IT Vendor Management; and IT Financial Management.
Leadership:
o Leadership and development of internal talent, ensuring we have the appropriate level of knowledge and skills across the team(s) and appropriate succession planning
o Leadership and performance management of contractors
o Leadership and performance management of the IT departments third party suppliers
IT Portfolio and Project Management
o Establish and maintain an accurate view of the IT delivery roadmap(s), aligning where appropriate with relevant internal stakeholders and third party suppliers
o Establish an IT Delivery methodology which promotes the right balance between speed and control, assuring its application across IT projects
o Overseeing the continuous improvement of project management processes and practices
o Accountable for demand and capacity planning across the internal IT team and IT third parties in respect of project delivery; scaling the delivery team as appropriate
o Assure positive customer satisfaction through delivery of projects to the agreed cost, time, scope, quality and security constraints
o Ensuring that IT projects and IT workstreams are planned and tracked appropriately
o Establish regular, clear and consistent channels of communication at the appropriate levels within the organisation
o Overseeing the mitigation of key risks and issues across the IT Portfolio
Vendor Management :
o Establish IT vendor management governance
o Accountable for the contractual and commercial relationships with all third party vendors providing IT services into Matalan
o Oversee commercial and contractual negotiations including contract setup, renewals and terminations
o Accountable for defining and leading cost optimisation opportunities with third party services and products
o Measure and report on vendor management function performance
IT Financials :
o Accountable for the management of IT CAPEX and OPEX budgets
o Continuous re-forecasting of costs, mitigating any associated risks; invoice reconciliation; and payment disputes
About You
• Leading multiple, complex, global IT projects concurrently
• Leading vendor management disciplines including suppliers with multi-million pound contracts
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Leadership of multi-disciplined teams with a blend of internal talent, contractors and third party suppliers
• Experience of both project and product based delivery is desirable
