The Head of IT (UK/Ireland/North America/Nordics) at Expleo is responsible for the effective delivery of IT services to a number of businesses within Expleo' s global portfolio.
Based in the UK (preferably commutable to the Preston area) with occasional travel, you will be expected to support the business by delivering and provisioning IT services to meet the needs of the business and often complex and demanding customer projects. Working closely with business delivery teams and coordinating your own direct team to ensure IT equipment, systems and services are there to support.
In this role you will operate in a matrix organisational structure, reporting to the CIO Europe and the UK Managing Director. You will work closely with the Group IT team to contribute to and ensure the smooth delivery of the Group IT strategy within your in-scope countries. You will also participate in the ongoing Group Transformation Programme, representing your local country entities in the Group lead ERP, HR and Business System projects. Prior experience in application transformation projects is desirable.
Your span of control across the UK and Ireland covers an internal team of up to 15 staff and a budget of c.5m GBP. In addition, the role involves oversight of IT for Expleo entities in the Nordics and North America. Additional responsibility for further countries or technical domains is possible as part of your future career path with Expleo.
You will need to be UK National in order to obtain the necessary Security Clearance required for this role, due to the nature of our business and customers we support.
Responsibilities
- Providing IT proximity to the business and delivering solutions for business projects in your area
- Monitoring IT efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure engagement and alignment of local IT as with Group IS programs, especially the Group ERP implementation
- IT security and governance for local infrastructure and applications. Actively leading / supporting local Audit & Compliance procedures, certifications, audits etc.
- Supporting the development and delivery of the global IT strategy
- Assessing, monitoring and upgrading the IT infrastructure
- Liaising with vendors and 3rd parties
- Optimizing business IT processes
- Managing your respective budget across your regions
- Actively contributing to global IT leadership team, definition and deployment of global IT standards.
- Coach your and develop members of your team
Essential skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Broad experience including end user support, infrastructure and business systems
- Excellent team leadership and development experience
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- A good balance between strategic forward thinking and operational prioritisation and delivery
- Strong budget management capability
- Strong Project Management capability
- Knowledge and experience of Cyber/Information Security, including Cyber Essentials certification.
- A general sound understanding of networking and Microsoft technologies
- Experience in a larger global corporation with driving local IT towards and leveraging group standards
- Capability to document and structure knowledge & practices.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years in a similar leadership role
- A background within a corporate business or similar professional services organisation. Experience within the Defence or Aerospace industry would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable skills in Project and IT Operations Management
- Technical aptitude in Networking, Server and Storage management and general Microsoft infrastructure and business tools.
- Cyber Security knowledge and experience including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials
