SET Ixworth School is a small high school set in the picturesque Suffolk countryside. We are over-subscribed and will have around 600 pupils in the school by September 2024.

The school enjoys a positive reputation in the community, as evidenced by the high demand for Year 7 places in September 2024. The students demonstrate respect, motivation and very good behaviour in their learning.

The school's vision is to provide an education system that truly serves those it educates by always reflecting on and addressing individual needs, strengths, and interests. There is a Specialist Resource Base on site for around 12 pupils, supporting pupils with Communication and Interaction needs.

The school is currently a 'Good' school according to Ofsted, with an inspection from September 2019.

The Role

We are looking for a hard-working, talented person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of our school as a Head of Humanities.

  • The leadership, day-to-day management and high standards of the Head of Humanities along with the setting, development and implementation of policies, plans, targets, practices and procedures related to Subject Leadership within the context of the vision, ethos, aims and goals of the Trust
  • To lead, develop and enhance the provision of whole school Humanities to ensure that all students progress beyond the expected rate of progress
  • To effectively appraise, performance manage, line manage and deploy teaching and support staff as appropriate within the English area
  • Undertaking responsibilities as a member of the Middle and Extended Leadership Teams of the school.
