Head of History

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and vibrant secondary school located at the heart of the Chichester community.

We are committed to delivering a high quality education to all our pupils whilst excelling in the delivery of pastoral care and providing an inspiring enrichment programme for all of our students, as recently highlighted in our 'Good' Ofsted judgement. Our students go on to maximise their potential and achieve both academic and vocational excellence in their chosen routes when they leave at the end of Year 11, many continuing at the school in our 'Outstanding' Sixth Form.

This opportunity would suit someone who is able to model consistently high-quality teaching and be able to demonstrate excellent practice to others within the department. In return, we can offer a friendly and supportive school with a robust team ethos, excellent facilities and an exceptional professional development programme with great opportunities for further career development. This role would not be suitable for an ECT. The Head of History will be a forward thinking and highly motivated leader who will lead our department onto new levels of success.

The successful applicant will be focused on achievement for all pupils, at all levels, and will work effectively and collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external support to ensure effective provision of History for our pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the potential to be an excellent leader
  • Be committed to raising standards in your subject across the school
  • Have high expectations and be keen to make a difference
  • Model consistently high-quality teaching and demonstrate excellent practice to others within the department.
