Job Description

The Head of Ground Training/Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor is responsible for the theoretical knowledge training conducted at all Skyborne Airline Academy sites in the UK with minor oversite of a US based site. The CTKI will follow existing established procedures but can adapt and innovate when required. There is a strong focus on quality with a continuous drive towards process improvement, standard of teaching & customer satisfaction.

  1. Overseeing the Ground Training Managers who will take the day-to-day lead on:
  2. Programming and monitoring the training given at their respective site.
  3. Monitoring student Theoretical Knowledge progress.
  4. Preparing and maintaining Training Records.
  5. Preparing and maintaining Theoretical Knowledge Instructors' training records.
  6. Chairing the Organisation's internal Theoretical Knowledge Instructors Meetings.
  7. Management and development of all Theoretical Knowledge Instructors on base
  8. Ensuring the delivery across all sites is standardised and of the highest quality
  9. Deputising and assisting the HoT with their responsibilities, as and when requested.
  10. Attending the Organisation's internal Training Meetings.
  11. Representing Skyborne Airline Academy at the UK CAA Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructors' Meetings.
  12. Ensuring that their own Theoretical Knowledge is up to date and adheres to all current published learning objectives.
  13. Acting as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor, when required dependent upon availability.
  14. Conducting administrative and other duties that directly support the role of the HoT.
  15. Accountable for ensuring that the school is compliant with all regulatory requirements for all authorities regarding delivery of theoretical knowledge training.
  16. Defining and monitoring the required quality and standard of theoretical knowledge training given by the training staff.
  17. Ensuring training policies and processes are suitable for task and regulatory requirements.
  18. Communicating/promoting policies, procedures and standards throughout the school.
  19. Ensuring that all theoretical knowledge training documentation, manuals and courseware are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the business and authorities.
  20. Ensuring that Theoretical Knowledge training is delivered to meet Skyborne Airline Academy objective of being the safest, highest quality and customer focused training school in the world.
  21. Driving enhancement and improvement of theoretical training delivery across the business
  22. Ensuring theoretical training is as vertically integrated as possible, to enhance the trainees' journey throughout the course.
  23. Overseeing the development, enhancement and maintenance of the Skyborne LMS (Skyworx)

Qualifications

  1. Extensive ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Instruction Delivery.
  2. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to motivate and encourage staff, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts ranging from executive to administrative levels.
  3. Demonstrable record of leadership in an ATO management role.
  4. Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Readily accepts changes and adjusts accordingly.
  6. Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under adverse circumstances.
