Wayman Group is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our prestigious client, a renowned school in Westminster, as the Head of German. This full-time position will begin in May, and we are seeking a passionate German educator who can provide exceptional leadership and contribute to the growth and success of the German department.

As the Head of German, you will have the privilege of shaping the strategic direction and vision for the department, developing an innovative and engaging German curriculum that fosters students' language acquisition and cultural understanding. Your exceptional leadership skills will inspire and motivate both students and staff, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.

In collaboration with a team of experienced German teachers, you will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, incorporating a range of teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles. You will also have the opportunity to organize and oversee extracurricular activities that enhance students' exposure to the German language and culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong and visionary leadership to the German department
• Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning in German
• Mentor and support German teachers, fostering their professional development
• Develop an innovative and engaging German curriculum
• Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to German language and culture
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives
• Stay updated with the latest developments in German education and incorporate best practices
• Monitor student progress and achievements, providing guidance and support when necessary

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialization in German or a related field
• Postgraduate degree in German or Education (preferable)
• Significant experience teaching German, preferably in a secondary school setting
• Proven leadership and management skills
• A genuine passion for promoting German language acquisition and cultural understanding
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in German education
