Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting

Your role

Are you an expert in the financial and regulatory reporting requirements for a Bermuda life reinsurance company?
Do you have a deep understanding of Bermuda corporate governance requirements?

We're looking for a Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting to:
-manage the company's capital requirements, ensuring the entity meets or exceeds regulatory and internal solvency targets
-provide strategic recommendations to the Board and executive leadership on capital optimization and regulatory compliance and offer expert advice on transaction pricing and business planning
-ensure timely and accurate preparation of all regulatory filings requirement by the Bermuda Monetary Authority
-prepare and present financial and governance reports to the Board of Directors and relevant committees and chair the Finance Committee
-supervise the Company's third party service providers (e.g. insurance managers, corporate services provider, etc.) to ensure contractual obligations are met and high service standards are maintained
-serve as a key member on the governance framework committee

Your team

You'll be working in the Reinsurance Solutions team in Bermuda reporting to the CEO of the reinsurance company in a small team. Although the company sits within a large global bank, working there will feel more like a start up with everyone taking on additional tasks as needed. The reinsurance business is strategically important to service the parent company's life insurance clients and you will be a key part of that success.

Your expertise

-CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar recognized designation with knowledge of IFRS and its application to life reinsurance
-ideally 7-10 years in financial management roles within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
-strong understanding of Bermuda solvency and capital requirements, as well as corporate governance standards
-specific experience with life re/insurance and expertise in Bermuda's regulatory environment strongly preferred
-excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience reporting to Boards and executive leadership would be a plus
-comfort acting in a dual role that encompasses both finance and governance responsibilities
