Are you a qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background? Do you have experience working in large organisations? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Head of Finance Ledgers & Assets to join our Assets and Ledgers Team.
About the Role
Reporting into UK Financial Controller you will be responsible for the effective control of financial ledgers and processing financial transactions, including general ledger & asset accounting. You will manage a team of finance specialists (3 middle managers and 4 admins).
You will also:
• Ensure financial accounting and balance sheet governance for RMG adheres to Group policy and Statutory/Regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Lead in the production of financial accounts which are accurate and completed to critical timescales.
• Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with key business stakeholders and Group Finance, providing independent challenge where appropriate.
• Manage the team relationship with the external auditors and internal controls team for controls audit, year-end statutory audit and all enquiries arising.
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledgers and asset modules through the execution of appropriate processes and controls.
• Own the integrity of balance sheets including managing the reconciliation process and producing schedules to support the review of balance sheets by business FDs.
About You
To truly excel in this role, you'll possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below:
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Good understanding of financial accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• A continuous improvement mindset - a desire to improve processes and make efficiencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to articulate with colleagues and customers at all levels
