The Role

As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operational finance function, assisting the Solvd. Managing Director in the financial management of all Solvd. activities. You will own the Solvd. cost centre, recharge models and the development of new business recharge models.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team the role involves input and collaboration on the design and delivery of Solvd. Strategy including leading transformational change and standardisation across Solvd. Finance and Operating Companies.

Key Responsibilities

Head of Finance responsibilities include creating forecasting models, assessing risk and controls, and ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations and legislation.

You will lead the Solvd. Finance team to deliver finance activities to each operating company. Creating key relationships, you will deliver meaningful data to the group and operating companies to deliver exceptional results for the Transport UK (TUK) Group Finance teams, identifying strategic improvements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Attainments

  • Educated to BSc/MSc Degree level in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification
  • Significant post-qualification experience in industry.

Abilities

  • Effective listening, communication and influencing skills at senior management, capable of adapting style to target audience.
  • Ability to apply commercial pragmatism in prioritising risk management & internal control initiatives.

General intelligence

  • Proven analytical background.
  • Sound understanding of VAT and Accounting technical standards.
  • Outstanding analytical dexterity with sound organisational aptitude.

Personal attributes

  • Effective listening, communication and influencing skills at senior management level, capable of adapting style to target audience; ability to apply commercial pragmatism.
  • Tenacity at dealing with and extracting the best from colleagues and peers both within Solvd. and in the UK subsidiaries.
  • Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
