Job Purpose

This is a critical leadership role for a strategic, commercially-minded individual with a proven track record in financial management. As the Head of Finance, you will work closely with and report directly to the Managing Director, with occasional attendance at board meetings when required, playing a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial direction and oversight to ensure the ongoing financial health and growth of the organisation.
  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial and accounting matters, including cash flow management and statutory accounts.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Contribute to defining and implementing the company's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including timely filing of legal and regulatory documentation.
  • Financial Systems: Implement financial systems and policies to streamline operations and ensure efficient financial management.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities, manage budgets, and optimise working capital to drive efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks that could impact the company's performance, safeguarding its financial integrity.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the board, ensuring transparency in financial performance.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and build a fully functioning finance team, motivating them to meet both individual and company objectives.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships across financial and non-financial teams, supporting senior management in informed decision-making.

Skills & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Extensive experience in overseeing management accounts, financial reporting, and operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • High-level computer literacy, with proficiency in financial systems and tools.
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Flexibility may be required to meet business needs.

Salary

Competitive, dependent on experience.
