Cirencester Deer ParkSchool, part of the Corinium Education Trust is looking to recruit a highlyskilled and motivated Head of Faculty, Science.

We are seeking aninspirational, dedicated and ambitious individual to provide strategic and ambitiousleadership within our school. This is an exciting opportunity to lead adepartment to deliver a high-quality, inclusive and ambitious curriculum,supporting students across key stages 3 and 4 and designed to meet the needs ofall learners.

The Team

The staff are a team ofnine committed teachers with specialisms and experience across the sciences,and beyond into industry. They share a strong shared belief in practical andinvestigative work, the Science teaching staff are well supported by a team ofScience Technicians. We have worked hard with our pupils to return OutstandingScience GCSE results for more than a decade.

The Curriculum

Our students enjoysuccess in Key Stage four Science and through the AQA GCSE Combined andSeparate Sciences. At Key Stage three, the full three years our Schemes ofLearning have been enhanced by our own practicals and demonstrations, to makeour pupils' lessons more varied, relevant and accessible. We believe thecurriculum should evoke a sense of 'awe and wonder' in Science and the Worldaround us and promote independent thinking that allows pupils to considerthemselves as part of something larger - within the UK and the wider world. Studentsin Science study a 'spiral curriculum' in which key concepts are revisited andbuilt upon.

TheIdeal Candidate

You will be a qualifiedteacher (QTS) with a degree in Science or a closely related field and you willbring strong leadership experience within secondary education. You willhave a proven track record of delivering outstanding Science teaching acrossKey Stages 3 and 4, securing excellent outcomes at GCSE, driving curriculumdevelopment, supporting diverse learners and improving attainment throughinnovative pedagogy and strategic initiatives.

You will inspire bothstudents and staff, champion high-quality teaching and learning and foster aninclusive, safe and high-performing departmental culture. Strongorganisational, communication and IT skills are essential, along with acommitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining the higheststandards.
