Head of Facilities and Estates

An opportunity to join COT, an ambitious charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, in this leadership position driving continuous improvement of the Trust's facilities and estates.

You'll have responsibility for ensuring that the Trust's physical estate and facilities services operate effectively and in compliance with regulations. By leading and inspiring the in-house team, and effectively managing third party contracts, you'll develop a best-in-class service which meets the trusts goal of delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Estates and Facilities Teams
  • Work with the Director of Commercial Operations to develop the Estate Strategy and allocate resources to meet objectives.
  • Oversee major projects carried out in-house or by approved contractors
  • Manage and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) alongside a provision of reactive maintenance for the estate and properties
  • Manage third party contractors including the outsourced IT provider, and the organisations vehicle fleet
  • Manage and monitor the estates budgets

About you
• Demonstrable experience managing soft services in a multi-site environment
• A thorough knowledge and experience of relevant current legislation including health and safety, and fire safety
• Demonstrable knowledge of wide-ranging facilities services
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams.
• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, contract negotiation and resource management.
• A genuine commitment to sustainability and a proactive approach to ESG initiatives
• A commitment to ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in all initiatives with sensitivity of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.
