What the day will look like
As Head of External Communications - EMEA, you will lead Aon's external communications across the region, working closely with senior leaders and communications colleagues across countries and globally.
- Work with the EMEA CMO and Global Head of Communications to shape and deliver external communications aligned to business priorities
- Set clear ways of working across EMEA to support consistent, effective communications in a cross-border, global matrix environment
- Build strong relationships with journalists across key markets, securing coverage and managing media enquiries
- Strengthen Aon's presence and share of voice across key themes shaping client needs across Risk Capital and Human Capital
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with Aon's brand voice
- Oversee the creation and activation of press releases, statements, blog posts, talking points and social content across EMEA, balancing regional consistency with local relevance
- Lead crisis and incident communications across the region, escalating to global teams when needed
- Prepare regional leaders for media interviews and public speaking opportunities
- Travel occasionally across EMEA to support key markets and stakeholder relationships
- Lead and develop an EMEA communications team, with matrix leadership of in-country specialists
- Provide Helix leadership for external communications across Solution Lines, regions and functions, ensuring alignment and clarity across the operating model

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Experience leading external communications across multiple countries within a global or matrixed organisation
- Strong media relations experience and sound judgement around reputation management
- Confidence working cross-border, balancing global alignment with local needs
- Experience supporting or leading crisis and incident communications
- Proven people leadership skills, including working through direct and matrix reporting lines.
