Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Analytical and Planning
• Ensure that EPRR corporate responsibilities are met and provide assurance to the Organisation's Board that the Trust is compliant with relevant legislation and guidance.
• Ensure that all national and local developments and requirements in relation to Emergency Planning are used to inform both decision, policy making. and training
• Ensure that the Trust has in place a robust decontamination plan and arrangements (including CBRN/HAZMAT. That staff are trained in accordance with their role across all sites and designated settings.

Communication
• Represent UHCW on a range of strategic meetings and forums internally and externally, and act as the point of contact for all issues relating to incident planning and response.
• Organise and coordinate external communications for Emergency Preparedness in line with national guidance and legal duties offering expert advice to the AEO.
• Manage the collection and coordination of information required for submission against external monitoring and requirements.

Leadership and Training
• Provide leadership and line management to the EPRR manager.
• Responsible for developing and delivering local training workshops and exercises relating to EPRR and business continuity within the Trust to relevant staff groups ensuring exercises occur (within national specified frequency) to practice, test and validate the robustness of existing plans.
• Coordinate and lead the provision of competency training for business continuity, critical and major incidents to on-call executives and managers to ensure that the Trust meets all the requirements as set out in current legislation.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
