ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Nuclear Skills department, ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the nuclear sector.

As the Head of Training and Education- Nuclear Skills you will take responsibility for the operational management and compliance of the Sellafield Apprenticeship contract for all Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeship Programmes at Energus and Sellafield including the provision of Additionalities and Short Courses, as outlined in the contract.

In this role, you will also work across all the key business functions to ensure effective management and delivery against contractual KPI's for the provision.

To thrive in this role, you must have recent and extensive experience in teaching, instructing and training in the nuclear industry. You must also have experience in post 16 education/training including curriculum design, delivery, assessment and evaluation, and Higher Education accreditation and approval processes for nuclear courses.

Successful candidates must:

- Hold of be willing to work towards a Level 4 or above management qualification within a specified period

- Hold a Level 3 equivalent vocational professional qualification

- Possess a minimum of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications & be willing to update skills

- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (CertEd, PGCE or B Ed)

It is considered advantageous to possess:

- A relevant professional membership

- Accredited higher level management qualification e.g. ILM, CMI

- Experience of management of staff and projects
