Job Title: Head of Digital Architecture and Design

Location: Warton or various other locations – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £87,000 + depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Directing the implementation of an enterprise-wide architecture and practices which ensure that the application of digital change is embedded in the organisation
  • Managing a team of experienced, senior architects and provide appropriate digital consultancy services to the business
  • As a senior member of the Architecture Team, you will be highly influential in helping to shape, lead and communicate the organisation’s digital management strategy, across the sector and to our customers, partners and suppliers
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s business processes, and information are correctly captured considering any relevant statutory, internal, or external regulations
  • Engaging with the business and maintain business relationships on several levels to shape and agree business solution requirements and manage through to completion.
  • Supervising specialist application/technical consultancy. The specialism can be any aspect of digital, information or communication technology, architecture, technique, method, and product or application area
  • Working closely with the Head of the Architecture Management Office to contributes to the selection and development of appropriate solution development and design methods, tools and techniques
  • Assisting the business in defining their systems’ capability requirements and advise on matters affecting technical standards, policies, and information. Work with Head of Architecture Management Office to direct teams to deliver emerging technologies, systems, and solutions

Your skills and experiences:

  • Relevant technical or business degree, experience in consultancy and/or people management position
  • Significant experience of working and managing in a Digital ecosystem and transformation culture
  • A comprehensive level of experience in the technical leadership of key digital transformation projects across the life-cycle including continuous improvement
  • Some people management experience
  • Strong architectural background with membership of appropriate Professional Institution (MBCS, MIET or similar)

The AIR Sector Digital Architecture team:

The Air Sector Digital Architecture team works on high-profile, leading-edge military programmes requiring state of the art solutions, where you can be the catalyst for introducing innovation into its way of working and mindset. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on cutting-edge implementations of digital IT systems and next-generation military air platforms.

As a key member of the Architecture Practice Management Team, you will have the chance to shape the future of technology introduction into the business, leveraging your expertise to develop, design and deliver technical solutions and supporting corresponding business change to meet the requirements for the Air sector at the highest level.
