The purpose of this role is to lead and inspire the Groundworks, Civil and Rail curriculum team to provide excellent teaching and learning, resulting in outstanding provision and outcomes for our students.
The post holder will be accountable for the success of the Groundworks, Civil and Rail curriculum and will report to the Assistant Principal for Engineering.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running and operation of the Groundworks, Civil and Rail department including full time, apprenticeships, Boot camps, part time courses and any future T-levels.
Success will be measured through the swift progress that learners make, high value-added scores from learners' starting points, high grades at examinations, high-quality teaching and learning, student satisfaction surveys and high levels of progression to the next level of study, apprenticeships or purposeful full-time employment linked to their study.
The role will include line-management responsibilities for the Groundworks, Civil and Rail curriculum team and associated support staff.
The post holder will teach for around 12 hours a week.
The post holder will work with other department heads and managers, CIAG services and other external organisations to deliver continuous improvement, share practice and deliver projects including parental engagement where required. The post holder will also work effectively with support coaches, safeguarding teams and other internal departments as required.
The successful post holder will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. The successful candidate will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to clearly demonstrate achievement of demanding targets.
