The Role
The Head of DeFi will be a senior leader in the Tezos ecosystem and community, responsible for one of our key strategic industry verticals. The DeFi ecosystem on Tezos is small but growing quickly, and we believe that with our pipeline of partnerships and fantastic technology, not least through the release of Etherlink EVM L2, we are well positioned to accelerate this growth even further.
Our Technology
Tezos is an open-source platform known for its flexibility, security, and self-amendment capabilities. It's built to empower developers to create smart contracts and decentralised applications with ease. Today, the Tezos ecosystem is made up of thousands of passionate community members actively involved in various projects and initiatives including the development of decentralised applications, smart contracts, and educational content. We're proud to partner with the likes of Manchester United, Ubisoft, and Societe Generale (to name a few). Some of the exciting projects built on the Tezos blockchain are (fx)hash, Objkt.com, Kord.fi and Kukai.

What you'll do
- Develop strategies for adoption of Tezos within the DeFi industry vertical, including strategies around liquidity provisioning and builder/user incentives.
- Working closely with the co-founder and senior leadership of the Tezos ecosystem as the subject matter expert within all DeFi related matters
- Contribute expertise as the main DeFi specialist in investment and grant assessment committees
- Collaborate closely cross-departmentally to provide insights on integrations and product roadmap strategies, enabling potential partners to thrive and innovate within the DeFi landscape.
- Manage and coordinate a team of various competences such as engineering, product and business development.
What you'll need
- Passionate DeFi user with extensive knowledge of current market products, as well as upcoming innovations and product roadmaps.
- An exceptionally strong quantitative background through academia and within financial markets
- Financial structuring expertise of traditional and alternative assets
- Strong business acumen and analytical thinker who deeply understands financial economics
- Ability to work with legal teams to ensure DeFi products comply with local and international regulations.
- Fluent English language skills with strong communication and ability to develop and maintain relationships
- Pedagogical, you'll be able to lead and "educate" a community representing DeFi on Tezos at conferences and public speaking events
- Comfortable with frequent travel, mainly in Europe. But also wherever you identify opportunities for presence.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in structuring alternative assets for institutional investors
- Experience working for a DeFi start-up project
