Job Description

We're recruiting for a Head of DC Client Projects to join our award winning DC team. In this role you will personally develop and direct the end-to-end implementation of complex DC Workplace pension schemes for both new and existing clients. Having responsibility for setting the foundation for LGIM's long term partnerships with each of these organisations. Successfully on-boarding these clients by taking personal responsibility for all aspects of each programme and in doing so ensuring LGIM meets its stated targets and objectives in terms of DC contribution flows and assets under management.

You will also provide leadership to a team of direct reports as required. The client programmes managed in this role are critical to the ongoing success of the DC Pension business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with Distribution, LGIM and Workplace teams (Operations, Investment Services, Product), ensuring a clear and robust process applies to the implementation of new schemes and controlled changes to existing schemes, achieved in a way that considers the fair treatment of all customers
  • Providing oversight with implementation teams and project managers to provide our clients, appropriate documentation demonstrating how the pension scheme on-boarding or change process is being directed. Tailoring the project documentation to the needs and expectations of the client given the complexity of the project or programme
  • Ensuring full and regular update communications are provided to all senior stakeholders involved with the project or programme, both externally and internally. Making sure that that all roles, responsibilities and timescales for each implementation programme are widely understood, this will require engaging and developing relationships with board directors of FTSE50 organisations and their direct reports
  • Working as part of the senior team within DC Pensions, presenting our strategic client implementation credentials to maximise strategic and complex new business opportunities at tender, beauty parade and site visit stages
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across Workplace DC and the wider Asset Management business in developing and evolving the framework for complex client implementation and asset transfer programmes, sharing best practice with implementation colleagues in order to aid their own development
  • Directing the implementation team to keep divisional management information (MI) up-to-date on a weekly basis with strategic client scheme potential, including expected number of lives, projected APE and evolving timeline. Ensuring that each complex implementation programme is managed such that it meets its full expected potential
  • Undertaking a Post Implementation Review for each implementation programme, arranging a meeting with senior stakeholders and intermediaries. Demonstrating that the role of the nominated Senior Client Director is fully understood and that that individual has been involved during the implementation programme. Sharing best practice with colleagues and provide case study material and input in all cases
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of LGIM DC Pensions products, propositions and processes, keeping abreast of developments across LGIM, of relevant market activity and of legislative developments in order to be able to review and direct change to the approach to implementations and asset transfers. Taking the lead of DC Distribution on propositional and product developments, displaying flexibility to adapt to new demands as they arise. Discussing these with senior external stakeholders on behalf of LGIM as required and demonstrating an understanding of the impacts on the strategic client and their objectives

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Detailed experience and knowledge of workplace pension product and proposition solution design, taking into account client needs
  • Commercial awareness of DC market dynamics, regulation and the competitive landscape
  • Demonstrable track record of leading the successful implementation of complex programmes for strategic clients
  • Proven experience of providing leadership to a team of direct reports
  • Strong programme/project management experience is required
  • Proven track record of successful engagement with very senior client and intermediary stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate at a senior level, both internally and externally and to successfully chair meetings with senior stakeholder's present
  • Excellent presentation skills including the ability to articulate and covey our proposition and implementation concepts to a board director audience in a clear and compelling manner
  • Professional qualifications in relation to the role are desirable for example PMI or Certificate in Financial Planning and Prince2 or another project management accreditation is desirable
