Overview

Incisive Media has an opening for a Business Development Manager to join The Financial Services Forum. This is an exciting role within a dynamic team which will focus on developing the Forum's membership community and business partnerships. There is key emphasis on consultative selling, relationship management and negotiation, operating at director level.

The Financial Services Forum is a high-quality, professional networking environment with access to thought leadership and educational content covering all aspects of financial services marketing, across all sectors of the industry. We provide fresh ideas and expert insights through a mixture of seminars, half-day conferences and summits. Our knowledge hub provides exclusive case-studies, interviews and opinion pieces, including regular contributions from some of the most inspiring marketers in the industry.

This role will suit an ambitious, creative and hard-working team-player keen to accelerate their career in sales. You will be selling client side and practitioner membership packages plus sponsorship of events and awards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a senior level with decision makers responsible for setting strategy and controlling budgets.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

This role will report to the Managing Director and will have responsibility for the whole business development remit. There is also a strong element of account management with existing business partners.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Maximising sales efforts through telephone, social media and client meetings.
  • Building strong relationships within the industry.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Acquiring and developing new business outside the assigned key accounts list.
  • Providing excellent customer service/account management to our client community.
  • Accurate reporting of all sales efforts.

What we value

  • 3-5 years media/events sales experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience of operating in B2B and D2C markets.
  • Background in finance is not essential but would be highly desirable.
  • Problem solving: you can demonstrate that you can think your way out of a challenge - using your own initiative.
  • Confidence, charisma and a conscientious attitude.
  • Excellent telephone manners.
  • Individuals that demonstrate self-learning and are keen to mentor the team.
  • Proficient in the use of a CRM system, ideally SalesForce.
  • Effective personal time management and work ethic.
