Job Description

The purpose of this role is to lead the Cyber & Technology Procurement team for Heathrow's IT, Technology and Digital related portfolio. This role will be accountable for the end to end procurement process for all technology requirements of 3rd parties, including sourcing, procurement, implementation, post-contract management and supplier management. This will involve working closely with senior business stakeholders to create and execute short and long term procurement strategies for the cyber, technology and digital sub programmes which will best position Heathrow to maximise value delivery, minimise risk and delivery the agreed benefits of the programme through cost saving, revenue generation or improved Airport operations.

This role will drive the creation and delivery of overarching technology procurement activities across the full supplier base as well as delivery of sourcing strategies. It will focus on supporting the delivery of continuous improvement through measurable efficiencies and providing valuable market insights to the key business stakeholders. It will require a commercial and market focus, necessary to dynamically influence the supply market & internal teams, to develop procurement strategies and lead negotiations, ensuring on time execution of procurement activities and closely liaising with the business to influence the decisions and drive value.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing development and delivery of the procurement for Heathrow's Cyber & Technology portfolio with both strategic and operational planning.
• Leading development of new innovative strategies, using creative commercial models, market leading technology and trends that will drive competitive edge for the business.
• Overseeing and guiding strategic sourcing activities for large value, complex spend areas which align with the business and the broader business / market strategies.
• Working closely with the operational and Infrastructure procurement teams to ensure appropriate collaboration and best practice sharing.
• Engaging regularly with the external market to bring knowledge and best practice back to Heathrow e.g. new commercial models, market shifts, new product offerings, innovation and trends.
• Working with the Head of Procurement Portfolio to define the most appropriate resource allocation, based upon skills, workloads, potential savings and stakeholders and prioritise and allocate new opportunity areas as appropriate.
• Maintaining accurate and timely management and performance information to enable organisation wide assessment of procurement performance.
• Leading, inspiring and motivating the team, enabling flexible resourcing, developing talent and managing performance through coaching, guidance and regular reviews.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in capital procurement, construction, cost management and supply chain management at a senior level on a major infrastructure programme.
• Established track record in driving high value business performance through developing innovative supplier relationship strategies and partnerships at Director level.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to an advanced level.
• Excellent strategic sourcing skills - proficient in all aspects of the 'Strategic Sourcing Cycle'.
• Extensive experience of Contracts and legal awareness of contract risks & experience of drafting complex and bespoke contract terms and commercial principles.
• Good commercial awareness and 'hunger' for best value along with excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to Influence and engage within a Multi-Discipline Team and the ability to Influence and engage with suppliers at Director/Senior Level.
• Accomplished leader with proven people and functional leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills with the 'presence' to be a role model.

Working Location

Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
