We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Creative to join the Creative team.

Purpose of the role

As a Head of Creative at UKTV you will lead and direct a team that will promote and drive viewing to our network AVOD service as well as the different channel brands and in realising an overall creative vision for UKTV.

We are creatively ambitious, with the desire to make a bold statement through our proven business building creative; by improving (year on year) on our current Promax award's tally, and by successfully competing beyond broadcast, with the marketing & creative community at large. You will also work in creative partnership with our external agencies to ensure that all of our campaigns are delivered as part of a fully integrated 360 advertising campaign and ladder up to one big creative idea.

What we would like you to bring to the role: Key experience, Knowledge, Skills & Personal qualities

Experience

  • Extensive experience working with and leading teams of Creative within an internal creative department for a broadcaster and/or a TV streaming service.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both high levels of creative output across all advertising platforms as well a proven track record of commercial success.
  • Experience with Adobe suite products such as Photoshop & After Effects would be beneficial but not essential.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of receiving, interpreting and responding effectively to creative briefs and feedback.
  • Expert knowledge of the creative development and production process across all campaign touchpoints, ensuring work presented is achievable within campaign budget.

Skills & personal qualities.

  • Exceptional creative skills, with the necessary tools to creatively work with others across all platforms.
  • A proven ability to generate original, innovative and brand defining creative work.
  • Possesses the drive and passion to creatively stand out from the crowd and refuses to accept work that is second best.
  • Able to oversee priority projects from initial briefings to final presentations, taking responsibility for all aspects of the campaign process from idea creation to final execution & delivery.
  • Is well-organised with a keen eye for detail and successfully juggles multiple projects, prioritising across several channels.
  • Comfortable to present to stakeholders at any level across our business; whether these be day to day Zoom calls or face to face pitch presentations.
  • A problem solver that can receive feedback on campaigns and work towards a solution that still retains the creative integrity & ambition.
  • Capable of effectively negotiating challenging and difficult creative discussions in a positive and constructive way whilst maintaining a psychologically safe environment for your colleagues.
  • Works effectively with colleagues at all levels and fosters strong working relationships within the team, the wider company.
  • An excellent communicator with a proven ability to inspire trust and confidence, and influence up to senior level, both internally and externally.
  • Maintains a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy, taking the initiative and operating independently against agreed goals, involving stakeholders accordingly.
  • A team player as well as a team leader that is happy to share ideas, take constructive feedback from across the business and share or take on additional workload when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high performing team, providing them with clear goals and direction. Work to inspire, empower, motivate, and develop them, fostering an inclusive environment where they can perform at their best.
  • Consistently generate fresh, original, and brand-defining digital first campaigns, executed with programme, originated and design content.
  • Applies an understanding UKTV's strategy and strategies of the different brands, genres, and platforms to the creative work.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key marketing colleagues to ensure that all work is delivered on brief and adheres to the brand guidelines but at the same time stands out and engages the target audience.
  • Work with wider Marcomms and Insights teams, to fully understand our viewers and create work which attracts and grows our diverse audiences.
  • Considers content, genre, audiences, campaign objectives and commercial targets when formulating creative responses, to maximise total consumption across volume and audience metrics.
  • Ensure consistent creative standards and approaches across all work to deliver consistent personality, tone of voice, and executional attributes for brand and individual show campaigns.
  • Ensure that UKTV Creative is a key enabler in realising key business, brand, and marketing KPI's.
  • Ensure that all creative work is underpinned by a fertile and strategically relevant creative idea.
  • Proactively respond to campaign and programme performance, identifying issues and opportunities, and driving and implanting change.
