Head of Country Risk
BMI is currently seeking a Head of Country Risk based out of our London office.
The successful candidate will lead our country risk division, producing high-quality political and economic forecasts globally. They will support our commercial teams through regular engagements with clients and prospects and manage a large, global team of analysts.

We'll Count on You To:
Leadership & Management:
- Directly manage five globally-distributed regional Country Risk teams.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development.
- Foster a culture of excellence and dynamism.
- Foster a culture of openness to change and ensure the successful execution of all Projects that touch the Research team (from back-end system changes, to new content launches)
- Act as a senior leader for the BMI business.
Content Delivery:
- Set the standard for timely delivery of content across teams.
- Ensure the quality of country data, forecasting, and analysis.
- Prioritize the right topics and content in collaboration with the Chief Economist and Industry Head.
- Ensure analytical rigor and accuracy.
Commercial Activity:
- Support commercial engagement across the five regional teams.
- Present key global Country Risk views to external audiences.
Thought Leadership:
- Work with the Chief Economist to drive internal excellence through ongoing discussions with and mentoring of the team
- Plan thought leadership content throughout the year.
Collaboration:
- Develop strong relationships with Commercial colleagues and across the wider Fitch Group.
- Act as a nexus of leadership between the Head of Custom Research, Head of Industry, Head of Politics, and the Chief Economist.
Product Development:
- Develop a constant pipeline of content enhancements.
- Lead new product execution related to CR content.
What You Need to Have:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in country risk analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading a large, high-performing team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including editing and providing feedback.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
