Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Full time, flexible working hours
Location: Whilst your base office will be in London, you will be expected to travel to EDF sites nationally. We'll also support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment)

Join EDF as the Head of Corporate Affairs and you will be responsible for developing and delivering a public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy for EDF in the UK that enhances EDF's relations with politicians and other senior stakeholders, protecting business operations and enabling future growth.

The role forms part of the Strategy and Corporate Affairs directorate which engages with the regulatory and political context we work in to create an environment for performance, supports and promotes EDF's reputation, provides expertise in areas such as Strategy, Policy and Research & Development and facilitates the relationship we have with our shareholder.

The opportunity...

Using your expert knowledge of politics and parliamentary process, as well as your network of contacts, you will design and execute a public affairs strategy to ensures EDF's views are understood and respected.

As a senior member of the EDF Communications team, you will work with the Heads of Communications of each EDF Business, providing advice and support to design and deliver the political engagement programme and campaigns.

You will provide direct support to the CEO and Executives in engagements with external stakeholders, develop and maintain a public speaking and thought leadership programme for the Executive and work alongside functional experts to ensure appropriate briefings are provided.

As the Head of Corporate Affairs, you will develop and maintain a personal network of external contacts to enable effective delivery of the role, ensure maintenance of the CEO stakeholder engagement plan and manage the Corporate Public Relations Agency. You will be particularly focused on supporting EDF's activities in it's retail and existing nuclear operations.

What we're looking for...

With a collaborative approach, you will be a great partner to other communications professionals throughout the company and the wider EDF Group to build excellent working relationships. You will also work with the public affairs and communications teams of Sizewell C and Hinkley Point C to understand their public affairs activity and ensure coordination with EDF's plan.

Coming from a large, complex organisation you will have demonstrable experience of operating at a leadership level, developing, and delivering complex public affairs strategies and a high level of political awareness and experience.

We are looking for somebody with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels within EDF, the ability to work at an operational level as well as at a strategic level where appropriate and somebody with the drive and enthusiasm to deliver excellent programmes and build strong relationships.
