Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and inspire a team of computing teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Develop and implement the school's computing curriculum, incorporating the latest advancements and industry standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress in computing, providing feedback and support for improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in computing education and digital technologies, and incorporate them into teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to promote cross-curricular teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Manage the school's computing resources and budget effectively.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the wellbeing of students and staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Computing teacher or in a similar role within the education industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the computing curriculum and the ability to implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital technologies, programming languages, and industry trends.
  • Familiarity with assessment methods and the ability to track and analyse student progress.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
