About the Role

Base Location:Glasgow/Perth

Salary: £74,600 - £112,000 + performance-related bonus + car/allowance+ a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent| Full Time | Flexible First options available

This is a key role in the SSE Renewables Finance Leadership Team, being the key commercial finance business partner to the SSE Renewables business, and leading a team of business partners supporting all Renewables technologies.

The SSE Renewables business has grown significantly within recent years and has ambitions for continued growth in the future. The business is facing some key commercial, investment and strategic decisions and requires strong commercial financial support. Alongside being the key commercial finance lead across the SSE Renewables leadership teams, a key part of the role will be development of the commercial finance team and the individuals within it.

- Be the voice of SSE Renewables Finance across the business unit leadership teams. Be a key, trusted contributor within those teams. Be a key contributor to all investment and commercial decision making papers that are being submitted to the REC/ GEC, ensuring financial impacts and risks are clearly identified and communicated

- Ensure the MDs fully understand their division's financial and operational performance, and identify risks and opportunities to achieving budgets and forecasts

- Play a key part in commercial, investment and strategic decision making within the SSE Renewables leadership teams. Provide astute commercial challenge, applying industry knowledge and experience to provide support and challenge throughout the decision-making process.

- Act as main finance point of contact of relevant M&A activity within business unit.

- Identify emerging themes that can impact financial and operational performance. Be able to clearly articulate potential financial outcomes and opportunities for mitigation/ maximisation.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- You will be a fully qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience in a Business Partner / commercial decision-making role with experience of solving business issues of similar scale and complexity, as well leading a team.

- Have a strong understanding of key market and external factors that can influence performance and commercial decision making. Be willing to constructively share views and opinions on these factors to drive strong commercial decision making.

- Excellent skills in interpreting and assimilating from multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight and appropriate recommendations and clear actions.

- You will have excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.

- Experience of leading a budgeting and forecasting cycles
