Description
The Scottish FA is looking to recruit a Head of Coach Education and Development to lead, design, and implement all coach education & development programmes for the Scottish football workforce. The role will be pivotal in ensuring the delivery of a modern, high-quality system with the aim of inspiring and equipping coaches and technical staff at all levels of the game to create environments where players can thrive.

- A UEFA A Licence (minimum) and strong experience in football coaching or education.

- Strategic thinking, budget management, and digital literacy.
A UEFA Pro Licence and/or postgraduate qualifications in sport management or leadership would be a plus, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
• To lead the coach education and development programmes, ensuring a clear long-term plan is in place to inspire, develop and support the coaching and technical workforce across the full football ecosystem.
• To manage and develop the coach education and development team ensuring clear objectives and review processes are in place which aligns with the overall plan.
• To provide a comprehensive and high-quality programme of coach education and development courses which meets the needs of the full football ecosystem.
• To monitor the performance of all aspects of coach education provision, producing progress reports and action plans to redress issues, reviewing and developing solutions accordingly.
• To work closely with the Chief Football Officer and key technical staff to ensure coach education courses are continually updated and modernised and reflect the development needs for all coaches working across the football system.
• Oversee the ongoing modernisation of education programmes and courses, ensuring there are comprehensive and engaging resources available to support delivery including the roll out and successful implementation of a new Learning Management System, maximising its impact for a modern learning approach.
• To develop and implement plans in conjunction with marketing and commercial teams to maximise the uptake of all education courses.
• Proactively support research and development opportunities with the aim of influencing continued positive progress and improvement across all areas of coach education and development.
• Lead a plan for the identification, training and allocation of coach education course tutors to ensure high quality delivery across all levels.
• Implement and maintain an effective management information reporting system which informs the Chief Football Officer of all coach education objectives, outcomes and KPI's.
• Lead and manage all aspects of the budget relating to the coach education programme with a view to generating income to help increase coach education financial sustainability.
• Maintain a close understanding of and ensure that the Scottish FA implements the principles of the UEFA Coaching Convention within our work.
• Support Club and Academy Licensing in relation to coach education and development requirements.
• Maximising best practice, support future delivery opportunities through engaging with external bodies such as FIFA, UEFA, Sportscotland, Sport coach UK, and Further Education establishments to research current trends and best practice in coach education.
• To ensure that all Health and Safety regulations, Child Protection and Safeguarding issues are considered and implemented through all Coach Education programmes as required.
• Supporting the principle of football for all, ensure the coach education and development programme is accessible and includes opportunities to progress at all levels.
Any other such duties that should arise from time to time in the development of the game and commensurate with the role.
