About The Role

Doncaster Rovers Academy are looking for a Head of Academy Coach Development to join the academy with a 1st July 2025 start date. The Head of Academy Coach Development will be responsible for the design, implementation and development of the academy syllabus and coaching philosophy to ensure alignment across all phases and coaches. To provide tailored and high quality learning opportunities for all full and part time coaches within the academy to ensuring practise design and professional development is relevant to maximise the learning opportunities for players in the academy.

Responsibilities:

  • To design, implement and develop the coaching philosophy and syllabus across the academy
  • To provide professional development opportunities for all coaching staff and ensure every coach has a tailored development action plan based on individual needs
  • To be an active member of the AMT (Academy Management Team) and the Clubs Technical Board.
  • To complete all PGAAC coaching audit requirements with the support of our and Head of Academy, and ensure all annual Coach Development KPI's as part of our APP (Academy Performance Plan) are actioned.
  • To ensure the academy TNA is up to date for all coaching staff within the academy with qualifications and relevant information used to support formal professional development opportunities with the FA
  • To ensure CCFs are completed for all coaches with support from the coach development analyst to monitor and evaluate coaching standards within the academy using video analysis to support where necessary
  • To provide 1:1 coaching, analysis and feedback to all full and part time coaches within the academy
  • To design and deliver an engaging CPD programme for all coaching staff across the season which links to developing individual needs
  • To understand and support how coaches can utilise the MDT staff within their practise design to provide the best learning environment for players
  • To ensure all coaches within the academy are able to utilise technology to enhance their coaching practise
  • Take responsibility for ensuring coaches have challenging and appropriate practice design and relevance to the specific ages and stages of development linking across the corners with suitable objectives
  • To ensure coaches operate with the highest safeguarding standards possible are understand the process of reporting concerns
  • To lead the Sunday schoolboy match day provision alongside the phase lead coaches, whilst delivering match observations of all coaches to monitor individual development
  • To manage Kitman labs across the academy and ensure that all that all relevant Kitman labs administration is kept up to date for all coaches across the Academy.
  • Observe 1st team training and games to ensure the alignment between the 1st team and academy in relation to session design and relevance
  • To work alongside the FAYCD to support coaches working through their FA coaching qualifications
  • To manage and deliver our Club 1879 coach development programme in partnership with the County FA, identifying future high potential coaches suitable for the academy and sharing best practise within the community
  • To work ensure we are developing our pre academy coaches with both formal and informal learning opportunities
  • To manage all equipment and kit orders for the academy, ensuring the best environment possible for the staff and players
  • Promote the brand identity and increase Club Doncaster fan base through positive service delivery.
  • Support the whole of Club Doncaster group to promote the events and the business as a whole, including additional support at Club Doncaster events
  • Act at all times with utmost good faith to the Club(s) and the Company
  • Devote full attention and ability to fulfilment of the duties required by the role
  • To maintain good relationships, and collaborative working practices across Club Doncaster
  • To work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job
  • To maintain the quality of service provision, regularly evaluating work and seeking to make improvements
  • Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in professional manner at all times
  • To cover as and when required at other departments within the Club Doncaster Group
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work confirmed from the Head of Academy as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will hold the below qualifications:

Essential:

  • UEFA A Licence
  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • Premier League Future Coach Developer Programme (or working towards)
  • FA Level 3 in Education
  • FA EFAIF
  • DBS

Desirable:

  • MSc in Sport Coaching or equivalent

About The Club

Applicants must hold a full driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle and have in date MOT, Road tax and relevant insurance if they are intending to do business mileage for Club Doncaster. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure up to date documentation is provided to Club Doncaster.
