Dark Fibre, Product Manager

Role Purpose

This is an exciting new position to lead product management for the Dark Fibre and Colocation portfolio. The successful candidate will have full product management responsibility for the dark fibre product across the entire network footprint, and colocation within over 300 ILA, POP and CLS locations.

This role could be located in one of EXA's key hub locations of London, Dublin, Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities

Working within the wider EXA Product Management & Network Investments team, The Dark Fibre Product manager will be responsible for maximising top-line revenues from the portfolio:

  • Ensuring that EXA's product offering is both price and feature competitive within comparable markets.
  • Developing new product features to increase demand and ARPU, as well as optimising existing features and processes.
  • Ownership of price lists and delegation of discount authority.
  • Working closely with the sales team to create winning strategies, commercial management including deal P&L and bid support. Bespoke contract negotiation and back-to-back supplier negotiation where applicable.
  • Working closely with the network investments team to identify new markets to develop.
  • Reporting on product portfolio key metrics including P&L.
  • Assisting Product Marketing with demand generation initiatives

The product management function is currently heavily orientated towards commercial/deal management activities.

Individual/ Leadership Profile

  • Currently managing a dark fibre portfolio for a network operator.
  • Highly accountable, focuses on delivering outcomes
  • Robust understanding of current challenges, trends and competitors within the European dark fibre market, and a good understanding of basic colocation products.
  • Self starter, comfortable working on own initiative, but understands where and when he/ she/ they need to partner with others from the broader EXA Infrastructure team. Comfortable managing interaction with multiple internal teams, often in a remote environment.
  • Enjoys regular customer interaction and is able to bridge the gap between Sales, Engineering and Operations.
  • Experience in customer and supplier contract negotiation.
  • Ability to create financial models and measure/interpret financial KPIs. Comfortable with basic financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, payback, as well as Capex, Opex and EBITDA concepts..
  • Clear communicator - Excellent written English language for proposal writing and collateral creation.
  • Proactively identifies and takes ownership of problems.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering revenue growth from a product portfolio.
  • Implementation of campaigns and demand generation strategies from scratch.
